# K-12 Curriculum

Resources will vary based on specific courses. Teaching is aligned to the Idaho Content Standards. The table below outlines adopted textbooks.

Idaho Content Standards

• All students in LPOSD will take coursework aligned with the Idaho Content Standards and measured through ongoing assessments. These standards are to be used as a minimum threshold by every school district in Idaho in order to establish some consistency in academic content statewide.The state of Idaho's Department of Education reviews and revises, when needed, all content standards typically on a six year review/adoption cycle. The focus areas of Kindergarten modules address:

• Counting and Cardinality

• Know number names and count sequence.

• Count to tell the number of objects.

• Compare numbers.

• Operations and Algebraic Thinking: Understand addition as putting together and adding to, and understand subtraction as taking apart and taking from.

• Number and Operations in Base Ten: Work with numbers 11‐19 to grain foundations for place value

6.SP.1: Recognize a statistical question as one that anticipates variability in the data related to the question and accounts for it in the answers. For example, “How old am I?” is not a statistical question, but “How old are the students in my school?” is a statistical question because one anticipates variability in students’ ages.

6.SP.2: Understand that a set of data collected to answer a statistical question has a distribution which can be described by its center, spread, and overall shape.

6.SP.3: Recognize that a measure of center for a numerical data set summarizes all of its values with a single number, while a measure of variation describes how its values vary with a single number.

6.SP.4: Display numerical data in plots on a number line, including dot plots, histograms, and box plots.
