Another wonderful start to the school year! A warm welcome to all our new and returning families — it is great to have you in the Lake Pend Oreille School District! A HUGE thank you to our inspirational educators who kicked off the year with energy & dedication, despite the unseasonable, mid- to upper-90-degree temperatures. That first week was extremely hot in the classrooms! Their commitment reminds us why our District continues to attract and keep the very best.

This year, we are excited to launch our guiding theme, “Green Light to Shine.” From Sandpoint to Clark Fork, and everywhere in between, educators are embracing this vision, which encourages every student to believe in themselves, take initiative, grow with confidence, and uplift others — skills that will serve them for life. Thank you for partnering with us.

AUGUST

There are few things as exciting as the start of a new school year. We are so thrilled to welcome our students back next week! Educators and staff are putting the finishing touches on classroom and building preparations to ensure a smooth transition and supportive learning environment for every student who walks through our doors September 2. This year, you will hear plenty of positive news rolling throughout the district highlighting how our teachers provide quality instruction while building trusting relationships with every student. LPOSD was recognized as one of the top performing districts statewide on the Idaho Reading Indicator. And for the state’s math, English and science assessments, the district consistently ranks among the best in Idaho. Our mission is truly “Every Student, Every Day!” It was great to see and visit with parents at Open House nights this week - thank you for investing the time.
